Considering previous experiences, I have refined the contents of my panniers.

Clothing:

Motorbike Jacket

Motorbike Gloves Summer & Winter

I am adding winter gloves to my panniers this time as I really felt the cold when riding through Russia. My fingers felt as if they were going to drop off on several occaisons.

Motorbike helmet

My trusty motocross helmet with a built in visor attached (went with me on my last trip).

Scarf

I was happy with my $60 AUS hiking boots I used the last time, but I found the stitching came apart easily, and after a while they stretched and became not so supportive.

Pant & Skirt

Louise Proudlock, has made me an amazing pair of pants out of rip stop fabric. She had designed in special pockets to house my passport

Tee-shirts, Jumper & Gloves

I have used merino wool tee-shirts before, which are fast drying and take a long time to get smelly

Socks, Underwear & Warm Hat

Bamboo underwear are the way to go, they are light weight and fast drying.

Towel

I lost my travel towel and replaced it with a large Cambodian scarf. I prefer this as it is fast drying and packs down smaller.

 

Motorcycle Equipment:

2x1L of four stroke oil in Aluminium bottle perminatly attached to my motorcycle

I can folded it over to create 18” if required

Head Torch - My Dad found find a small head tourch that only takes two AAA batteries.

Bike Lock

Plastic Hose - Used for Syphoning, new fuel line and for filling up my petrol cooker

Thin Dish Cloths -I wrap these over the air filters to add a skin which is easier cleaned

(on a daily or weekly basis depending on the road conditions).

Motion Pro Spanners

light weight spanners 8, 10 & 14. Since changing over to Motion Pro, I am able to have single spanners with one open end and one closed. On my last trip I could I take double ended spanners.

Which covered most operations with Flat Head, Philips, Allen Keys and Sockets options. It even has a bottle opener cut into the side.

Sleeping Bag

My sleeping bag weighs 0.84kg and is filled with white goose feathers which allows me sleep comfortably at -5 deg Celsius

Mattress

My Down Mat has an R-Value of 5.9 which allows me to sleep in -24 deg Celsius situations and only weights 0.63kg

MSR Petrol Cooker & Fuel Bottle

(weight 0.460kg) Despite this stove been obscenely loud it cooks dinner in record time. I have the small fuel bottle which i fill from my motorcycle tank every second day.
