Mikes new bike! Its a change of pace, position and stature! He just got it today and is off riding it! It will be our bike while we are here in the Netherlands.
We arrived! We had a fantastic welcome home reception with the Martel family and Dutch cake!
First flight on over four and a half years for Mike! Ive had to take a couple on my journey from Australia to Africa. We are now over half way there in Dubai
We are packed for flying! Is flying scary? I havent done it in awhile!
3-2-1 flying fix, bungee and the big swing! We ended this trip on massive adrenaline! Go #victoriafallsbungee!
We went for a beauiful hike under the victoria falls bridge with the full moon to light our way.
The last picture with me and my bike at victoria falls. For those who are traveling keep an eye out for my bike in the customs compound.
Big News! We have sold Mikes bike to Severi and AND surrendered my bike to customs! We are now bikeless in Zimbabwe!
Mike and I went down to the border post on Victoria Falls and handed in my Carnet de Passage and four hours of waiting under the aircon (thank god) we got my carnet back with a letter to state I surrendered it to customs!
The only hitch I had was when we parked the bike in the customs compound, the guard tried to force us to leave Mike helmet behind, In his words "You must leave the suit behind too!" I shook my head and said No, it is mine and I am taking it with me and walked away.
Otherwise it was a fantastic and simple process - however, I'm not sure if its hit me yet!
Mike is teaching motorcycle mechanics at the backpackers to Severi.
When I left home today, four years ago my slogan was One Woman, One Adventure, 70,000km, Two years.
Little did I know what would be install for me!
My original route was to ride from Australia to Africa and around, but plans change, you meet the man of your dreams and we become:
One Woman, One Man, Every Day is an Adventure, 68,000km (Mikes done over 100,000km), four years (Mike done 4.5years) and 24 countries (Mikes done nearly 30 or so!).
Life is always full of surprises!
For Mikes belated birthday present, we went on a helicopter flight over victoria falls! It was so amazing! Despite it being Mikes birthday present he let me sit in the front with the poilot! It was truly an amazing experiance!
We had a fantastic night out Dale and Dee. We talked a lot of crap and swapped some amazing stories! Dale and Dee are traveling around southern africa on a Harley! Dont you love the differences between the bikes!
We hit the salt roads driving hard and fast away Swakopmund, along the way, we discovered a small gift left on our sock monkeys and got right into it be following whats called a "D" road in Namibia bound for Spitzkoppe.
Heres my latest blog (though a bit old) for you to enjoy. Let me know what you think about the scenery!
